When Mitch asks Evan to be his "faux boyfriend" for a social media class project, Evan readily agrees. Evan is a good guy, but not that good. He has ulterior motives, namely: get to know Mitch better, MUCH better.

Evan is a tight end (this is American football speak, not sexual innuendo, although his ass is tight indeed). Mitch is a cheerleader. Both are seniors in college. Mitch just broke up with a closeted bi guy, so he's reluctant to date another one. But Evan is different, or so he say

I ended up liking this more than I thought I would.

After the first few chapters, I was afraid the characters were going to read as too immature for me.

But I thought Mitch and Evan were cute and sweet together.

Overall this one ended up being a nice easy, low angst read with some good steam.

Lane Hayes wins again.

Out in the End Zone by Lane Hayes is the second book in the Out in College series. When we first met Evan we in the last book we knew that he was working on a project with Mitch and spending time with him and we now get to find out what they've been up to. I won't tell you though- you have to read the book and find out. ;)

Alright, let's get down to likes and what I felt was missing.

What I liked:

-LH's smooth writing. Her stories have a steady pace that makes her stories easy and never dull to

Novella igual de sencilla que la primera, pero igual de mona y adorable, me está gustando esta serie de deportistas, es entretenida y deja con una sonrisa.

Review tomorrow when I'm at the laptop.

Weeee, this was a delight. It overlaps with book one in the series but can still be read as a standalone. I loved Evan and Mitch. Evan was like a giant puppy, eager but naive and sensitive and, once his past was revealed, it made perfect sense.

Mitch was just a great character, he's out and proud and happily living his life without complications, but he's also vulnerable, apart from his grandmother, he's never been put first as a priority, both his parents e

I loved this book, in fact I think it was even better than the first book. (All joking aside, the first book in the series has one of the best covers of the year....I mean DAAAYYYMMMMNNN)

I think bisexuality is one of the most difficult areas of sexuality to write and read about. (Not to mention live in the real world). Sometime it’s portrayed as a simple choice and other times it comes off as selfish, I think Ms. Hayes got it so right here. I think finding a life partner is difficult f

This is one of those cases that has to do with me and not the book. I loved how it started but I felt like I started to get bored during the second half and then I lost interest. But I'm glad I stuck through it till the end. Lane is an amazing author but this wasn't my favorite of hers.

I was so happy to see I was right and this was Evan’s story! It was so good. This one tugged at me hard, though. The chemistry they had was off the charts, but so many things had happened. I loved Evan from the first book and to see what makes him tick, and what had made him who he is…….yeah. wow.

To see Evan in everyday life, he's just a fun loving goof. Most everyone thinks he's straight, and although he's never said it out loud, he's far from it. He buried that side of himself. And when you fi

Sometimes I seek out action, other times heartbreak, and then there’s the days I want schmoopy- sweet and swoony romance that’s real enough to make an impact but not laden with angst that leaves me clutching my chest or in tears. That’s precisely where Out in the End Zone falls. The second release from Miss Hayes’s Out in College series, this standalone features a collegiate football player and a cheerleader. For those who did read the first of the series, it’s secondary characters Mitch and Eva ...more

Out in the End Zone is a delightful little take on the friends-to-lovers/fake boyfriend trope. I really liked Evan and Mitch, they are sooo cute together. I enjoyed their banter and seeing their feelings grow as the story progressed. Evan is all-in when it comes to helping Mitch with his senior project, even if he’s not quite ready to go all-in when it comes to being "out". I liked Evan's journey, and learning why he was hesitant, even as he was falling for Mitch, to really let himself be fully ...more

This series is shaping up to be very fun and sexy and just plain swoony. I might be a bit disappointed that Derek and Gabe didn't show up much, but Evan and Mitch definitely hold up the story by their own. Mitch is out and proud yell leader, which totally make me think of JVN when he was younger. Evan is a jock and probably bi, but he was seriously crushing hard on Mitch. What I like about straight guy Derek and Evan is that when they are interested in someone, they went all out instead of cower ...more

I'm a sucker for the fake-boyfriend trope and the feel-good read hit the mark.

The characters are the complete opposite but nobody acts like a brat or nasty. They just are nice guys in different ways. And just like that, they also deal with things differently. Either way, they are sweet, likeable and have chemistry which develops thanks to their agreement of being fake boyfriends.

The plot flows nicely, nothing too angsty or too amazing, more like an everyday story with bad days and

Now see this right here is what I'm talking about. I love, loved, loved Evan and Mitch. Super sexy and low on angst. Evan has his issues but deep down he is a man who knows what he wants and that's Mitch. What started out as a project quickly became reality and both men knew they wanted each other. I didn't love the first book in this series but this one I went bananas for. Just a hot, sexy story of two guys falling in love and the HEA was just wonderful.

Out in the End Zone takes place concurrently with the first book in the series, Out in the Deep End and explains where Evan’s been going while Gage has been hanging out with Derek at their house.

Evan is Derek’s roommate, a happy-go-lucky football player with a good family background. He’s fulfilling his dreams of playing football at a small SoCal college because a deadly accident four

Out in the End Zone follows Out in the Deep in Hayes’ Out in College series. While the timelines of the two books cross over each other, Evan and Mitch’s story could stand alone, though Derek and Gabe from the first book do make an appearance here.

I could see this book having appeal for a lot of readers, but it didn’t fully work for me and perhaps this author’s style isn’t the best match for me. Hayes uses a lot of clichés in her writing, I find the dialogue tired

This book takes place at the same time Derek and Gabe are figuring out there relationship in the first book Out in the Deep. In this, Evan, a laid-back football player is at a party when he sees his friend Mitch. While they have a passing acquaintance, Evan gets tongue tied and he feels an attraction to Mitch. And of course, when Mitch asks for help with his final project, Evan jumps at the chance to spend more time with him. As the story goes on, you realize Evan has secrets from his past that ...more
I really liked these guys. Evan was sweet and real and this could have been made angsty and I'm so glad that it did not. Mitch was a definite favorite! I loved this! It was exactly what I needed to read at this moment. I loved the build up and attraction between Evan & Mitch. Mitch was a delight to read! I do wish we’d get his POV but that’s not Lane Hayes style. Evan was so romantic and sweet with some of the things he said. This was a true delight to read!!

Out in the End Zone is a great addition to the Out in College series. I really enjoyed the first book but I think OITEZ might just have pipped it to the post.
It's an adorable friends to lovers and fake boyfriend story about Mitch and Evan. Mitch is an gymnast and in the cheer squad while Evan is a footballer player. Ev has had a bit of crush on Mitch for awhile but he's kinda intimidated by him. Seeing him fumble and stumble when he gets chatting to Mitch at a party was all kinds of adorable. E

Another good book in the series.

Out in the End Zone is book two in the Out in College series but it can be read as a standalone. Book one, Out in the Deep, is really great though and I recommend it. Out in the End Zone didn't affect my emotions quite as much as book one but I liked it very much. The blurb is great and describes the book well.

Evan was in a horrible accident before college but the author does a great job of keeping us guessing what really happened until pretty far along in the bo

I’ve always had a soft spot for college age romances, especially ones where one of the protagonists is opening themselves up to new experiences sexually or exploring dormant feelings.

Evan here is doing Mitch a favour by agreeing to fake date him for a project―and this right here is another reason I wanted to read this book, I love a fake date! From here on out I adored the way that Evan was so open and just went with the flow; these two were great together with all the teasing and the friendship

I just LOVE Lane Hayes' writing. This story was sweet and refreshing. The writing was great and it was easy to connect to this story and characters. The dialogue was entertaining and kept me wanting more and more!

I adored the chemistry between Evan and Mitch. After meeting Evan in book one, I did not expect to see him be nervous in front of anyone. I loved seeing him that way with Mitch. Their interactions were pretty cute and I liked seeing a different side to Evan than what I previously thoug

This book is everything that I love about Lane Hayes. It was sweet and dorky and intense and spicy. It was everything I was hoping for.

Evan is starting his last season as a college football player and he's enjoyed the partying and notoriety and female attention that comes with being an athlete... until he starts talking to Mitch at a party and realizes he doesn't want to stop. He's known Mitch for 5 years, but hasn't really made an effort until now. And he can't hide the fact that he's complete

I unabashedly love Lane's writing. She perfectly balances sweet and sexy in a way that is always genuine and never trite. I enjoyed this addition to the Out In College series even more than 'Out In The Deep' (which I thoroughly enjoyed), I think because I loved Evan's unwavering support for his best friend's coming out experience in bk1 & getting to watch him embracing his true self now. His love match with Mitch was both adorable and sexy AF and I loved how they interacted with each other t ...more

I'm been so happy reading this book, such joy. Evan and Mitch are so genuine, sweet, romantic, lovely. Their relationship so natural and authentic also in the video project of Mitch. Much love and little angst. Evan was right to be afraid to coming out as BI after what happened , not shame but fear of disaster. I liked their love to life, to live full every day, their spontaneity and enthusiasm for sex. Mitch is truly a angel , but I'm babling...Do you read the book and enjoy.
4.5 Stars I just finished Out in the End Zone (Out in College #2/KU) by Lane Hayes and I want to rename this series to FUN, FLIRTY, TENDER and SEXY in COLLEGE!! LOL I am loving the fact that she can write such complete stories even though they are relatively short reads. The premise was incredibly clever and so reflective our lives today. Mitch and Evan were adorable, sweet, funny and so sexy. The dialogue and banter was once again top notch. I found myself falling in love while they were fallin ...more

Lane Hayes is grateful to finally be doing what she loves best. Writing full-time! It’s no secret Lane loves a good romance novel. An avid reader from an early age, she has always been drawn to well-told love story with beautifully written characters. These days she prefers the leading roles to both be men. Lane discovered the M/M genre a few years ago and was instantly hooked. Her debut novel was ...more
